Structuring, Drafting & Managing Risks in Mining Contracts
Course Outline
Mining agreements generally govern a relationship between the contract miner and project owner over a period of years, and the fees payable under these agreements can run into hundreds of millions of dollars. A failure to ensure, at the tender stage, that the drafting of the project’s contractual documentation is clear may cost the owner and/or the contractor millions of dollars over the life of the project. These losses can arise directly from claims being made under the contract [or otherwise] and indirectly from inefficiencies due to an adversarial environment created by misunderstandings on site. Appropriate planning at the tender stage can minimize these risks.
This half day workshop will take you through the crucial steps of structuring, drafting and managing risks in mining contracts to help you in achieving watertight contract in future.
- Overcoming current mining challenges with successful contract structure
- Understanding and managing legal aspects of mining contracts
- Practical strategies and tips to drafting a mining contract
- Managing risk and exposure in mining contracts
- Termination of contracts and dispute resolutions
