Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. (SMM) has its core business in mining mineral resources, refining non-ferrous metals and manufacturing electronic materials. Pacific Metals Co., Ltd (PAMCO) is the biggest Ferro Nickel producer in Japan. They produce around 60,000NiMT of Ferro Nickel annually and import around 2 Million WMT of Nickel Ore from Indonesia. Their involvement in Indonesia is already over 50 years old and they also provided technical support during the construction of Antam's Ferro Nickel plants from its early stage. SMM is also a 20% shareholder of P.T.Inco and imports PTI’s Matte as a material for their Nickel Cathode production in Japan.
