Construction Contracts for OSV
  • Construction Contracts for OSV

About the Course

Although the market for OSVs remains volatile, certain principles apply to any newbuild programme. This course aims to identify the key issues that buyers, builders, lenders, and charterers need to consider during each phase of the construction process. Managing risks, and anticipating and resolving disputes, is also treated.

Construction Contracts for Offshore Support Vessels is a 2-day course which provides delegates with an introduction to shipbuilding contracts for offshore support vessels. Using case studies and example contracts, delegates will study both general principles of vessel construction contracts and specific principles applicable to OSV construction contracts. Delegates will analyze actual OSV construction contracts from the perspectives of builders, buyers, lenders, and charterers, and will explore common pitfalls during the construction programme, such as change orders and modifications. Delegates will also learn techniques for managing risks during construction, and will understand the alternatives for dispute resolution.
